Logo commemorating the Capitals 40th Anniversary season. This was used widely on all marketing campaigns throughout the season as well as worn as a patch on the players' jerseys.
Logo commemorating Alex Ovechkin's 700th career goal. I designed this with the idea of displaying Ovi's personality by incorporating the silhouette of him celebrating a goal. The 00 was designed to look like an infinity symbol to show he wasn't done scoring!
Logo system developed for the Capitals Development Camp, a.k.a. Rookie Camp. This is still used today for marketing and promotional materials.
Brand identity for the philanthropic division of Monumental Sports & Entertainment. This division is responsible for over $11 million in charitable donations to date.
Developed a brand identity for the Capitals practice facility. The goal was to create a semi-neutral brand while incorporating the KETTLER corporate logo. As a result of this logo development, I created the naming convention beyond the expiration of the naming rights. Currently the building is named MedStar Capitals Iceplex.
This brand identity was developed for a fundraising campaign for the Capitals and Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation. The logo was applied to t-shirts and hats and sold to Caps fans. Since it's inception during the 2007-08 season, this campaign has raised approximately $1 million that was primarily donated to Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS).
This logo was developed as part of an identity system for celebrating Nicklas Backstrom's 1,000th career NHL point. For the in-game celebration, this logo was used for promotion and printed on a fan giveaway.
The Capitals Cup brand identity was developed for this annual tournament of local high school hockey players. It represents over 5,700 players across 234 teams across the DMV.
This logo is from a failed marketing campaign for a hockey tournament. The intent was to create a marketing package of emails and printed materials distributed among adult hockey programs across the DMV to recruit teams for this new tournament. The winning team would have it's entry fees paid for the 7th Annual Labatt Blue USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championship hosted in Wisconsin.
